During the ferry ride, our driver will ask you to review your reservation information and sign your registration agreeing to the terms of your stay. This is all you will need to do to check-in. You may visit the office on the Island after you arrive to make any modifications to your reservation.

General Island Information

The island itself and the east island, accessible by a walking bridge, have a combined acreage of 18 acres. The island is located on the Red Cedar Lake which is an 1800 acre lake in Barron County.

The most convenient airport to us is the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport. This airport is a 2.5 hour drive. They have car rental facilities available. The closest airport to us is the Eau Claire Airport, but this is a smaller airport and the flights tend to be more expensive. This airport is a 1 hour drive.

We do have ADA public restrooms and guest rooms. Due to the nature of being an island, terrian can be unfriendly to wheelchairs and those with mobilitiy issues. Trails are gravel with several hills. We are happy to assist guests to and from the boat house, but full island, all day transportation is not available. Staying in the Main Lodge is recommended for guests with mobility issues.

Room Amenities

We rent each guest room separately in each cabin. Cabins are made up of between two and five rooms. All rooms have a private bathroom and separate entrance to guest room. Renting an entire cabin is ideal for groups that are vacationing together. Pricing for renting all the room in a single cabin can be found under “Check Availability” when available.

Most cabins do not contain a shared space, sitting area, or common area that can be rented as part of the cabin, with the exception of what is included with individual room rentals (for example, Katherine 2 has a sittting area and deck). However, there are many common areas and sitting areas for use by all guests on the island including but not limited to the Game Room, the Great Room in the Main Lodge, South Lawn, tennis court & tables, Upper Bonfire Area, Lower Bonfire Area, Swim Deck, Main Lodge breezeways, and patio. If you require a private gathering space, we have both the Ice House and Mrs. Stout’s Room which can be reserved in advance for gatherings and catered meals.

There are not televisions in any of our rooms, and there never will be. Stout’s is about reconnecting–we remove the crutches of our everyday lives facilitate that connection. We do have one TV above the boathouse that is shared among all guests of the island. A social location to encourage guests to connect with one another–maybe over their favorite sports team.

Yes! There is ice available complimentary in the Main Lodge. You can visit the office or the dining room to get as much as you need.

Yes! Wood is provided complimentary to all rooms with wood-burning fireplaces and for all groups that wish to use our private lower bonfire area.
