The downtown has a variety of cute shops.  You will have no trouble buying a souvenir t-shirt or hat.  You can find plenty of Northwood’s knick-knacks and gifts.  There is also a great fly fishing and outdoor clothing store.

Hookstone Winery:  If you appreciate locally-made alcoholic beverages, visit the Hookstone Winery.  Napa-Style winery with tasting room and gift shop. SPOONER TRAIN RIDES: Choose a Veazie Springs Sightseeing Excursion (45 minutes) or a Pizza Train (noon on Saturdays, 90 minutes and includes pizza!).  If trains tickle your fancy, then you will love to spend a day at the Railroad Memories Museum. Located within the old Chicago & Northwestern Train Depot, the museum is full of artifacts and memorabilia from railway history. The depot, built in 1902, serviced passenger trains until 1961, and now hosts historic train rides on beautifully rebuilt train cars. The trains excursions from Spooner to Trego feature a variety of activities and themes including, Hobo Night, Tony’s Riverside Pizza Train, Family Picnic Trains, the Spooner Rodeo Train Robbery and more. Kids, whether big or small, are invited to have their picture taken with the train conductor on the station platform and with the train engineer in the front cab of the historic locomotive. One of their main attractions is our gourmet ice cream. They offer sundaes, shakes, floats and cones. Their waffle cones are homemade and can be hand dipped in chocolate and nuts if you so desire. We think it’s “the best ice cream up north.”
